AAU Track and Field to host new Southwest Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center

ORLANDO, Fla. – The AAU continues to expand and adapt to give athletes the best experience possible. AAU Track and Field recently hosted the largest track and field event in the history of AAU during the AAU Junior Olympic Games, boasting over 13,000 competitors. In the ever-growing sport, the AAU will be introducing its newest competition the Southwest Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 7-8, 2020. 
 
Adding the Southwest Indoor Championship to the already impressive AAU Indoor Track and Field Calendar, shows commitment to bringing the AAU Track and Field brand to our western athletes and exposes the program to athletes who have yet to compete in an AAU Track and Field event before.
 
The Albuquerque Convention Center has been host to several NCAA Indoor championships and is the primary host of the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships.  The Convention Center has also hosted the USATF Indoor Championships seven times, since 2010.
