Athletes traveled to St. Augustine, Florida for the 2024 Young Achievers Relay Games and go to meet some big name track starsST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (May 24, 2024) – More than 400 athletes and 28 AAU Clubs made their way to Tocoi Creek High School in St. Augustine, Florida for the 2024 Young Achievers Relay Games. Joining the athletes were Olympians and members of the Lyles Brothers Foundation to speak to athletes about the world of track.
Athletes brought their track shoes for the track, pens for the autograph session, and their questions for some of Track’s best. Talitha Diggs, Ryan Willie, Olympian Teahna Daniels, and Noah Lyles' mother were in attendance to support the young athletes and impart their wisdom.
Members of the Lyles Brothers Foundation talked to the athletes about developing in the sport as well as creating a deeper focus to work towards their goals. Athletes had the opportunity to learn from athletes who were in their shoes before. Teahna Daniels is now an Olympian, but she got her start at AAU events in 2007. The NCAA Outdoor Champion, Ryan Willie competed at AAU events since 2010. Florida Gators star and two-time World Champion medalist, Talitha Diggs started her journey with AAU Track and Field. And the Lyles family has been competing together in AAU events and are now focused on giving back to the community.
This year’s Young Achievers Relay games didn’t only have the addition of world class athletes, it also added three new events: 4x100m Parents Relay, 4x100 Coaches Relay, and the 4x100m All Star Relay. Around 175 parents participated in the races this year! Check out the full results from the event here! And check out some of the action shots for this weekend - click here.
Thank you to all of the athletes, parents, coaches, and AAU Alumni who came to share their stories and create new memories.
