ORLANDO, Fla (July 5, 2017) -The AAU Track National Championships will begin this weekend on July 7th and continue through July 15th.
The AAU Track Championships is separated into two different events, the AAU Club Championships and the AAU Primary National Championships.

These events will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
These events bring elite competition from all over the world. Over 5,000 runners will compete, including athletes from Barbados and over 100 from Puerto Rico. Last year there were 36 records broken and a similar amount is expected to be broken again this year.
The 21st Annual AAU Club Championships are the last qualifier for the AAU Junior Olympic Games being held July 26- August 5 in Detroit, MI.
The top eight athletes advance to the AAU Junior Olympic Games. If an athlete that finishes in the top eight has already qualified, then the next athlete will be “moved up” as an AAU Junior Olympic Games qualified athlete. This does not apply for Multi-Events or Relays.
In its ninth year, the Primary Track Championships are growing consistently and will host around 750 runners. This event is an opportunity for athletes ages 8 and under to compete in their very own National Championships.
There will also be an autograph signing on Saturday July 8th and Thursday July 13th with former Olympic runners.
Also taking place on the track this weekend are the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games in Downey, California.
