ORLANDO, Fla. - During the AAU Region 6 National Qualifier for track and field June 29-July 2, coaches, and parents took a moment away from the oval to focus on helping the homeless.

Part of the overall #AAUCares program, this event held a toiletry drive during the week of competition. More than 100 items were tossed into the donation box, which went to benefit Knox Area Rescue Ministries. These items included soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

Athletes, parents coaches and spectators were encouraged to donate toiletries to Knox Area Rescue Ministries.  The organization  provides daily for those most vulnerable and desperate among us by supplying rescue services of food and shelter, then offer healthy, supportive relationships.

The shelter was extremely grateful to receive the items and sends a huge 'Thank You' to the AAU Family.
