Orlando, Fla. – The 2021 AAU Club National Championships wrapped up on Saturday, July 17. The four-day event hosted more than 2,500 athletes at Satellite Beach High School in Brevard County, Florida.
Florida held he highest number of participants with more than 1,000 athletes. Bringing in the second and third largest numbers of athletes was Georgia with just over 300 and Louisiana with more than 200 athletes. Nine teams travelled from outside the country, including the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and Canada. Other teams represented 29 states within the United States.
The AAU Club National Championships ended the first day of the event with five broken records. Samuel Baker broke the 12 Years Old Boys, 11-year record of 9:52.31 held by Brandon Marquez and replaced it with a finishing time of 9:51.60 for the 3000m. Immanuel Edwards broke the 17-18 Years Old Boys 3000m record of 8:59.12 by finishing with a time of 8:53.42. The previous record was held by Samuel Morales. Carlie Weiser broke Sophia Rivera’s record of 45-8.75 in the 15-16 Years Old Girls Shot Put with a score of 47-3. Weiser was also a double winner in the 2019 event. She won the 14 Years Old Girls Discus (129-1) and Shot Put (51-1), both of which were meet records. Laila Jones replaced the 11 Years Old Girls Shot Put record of 36-3 with a 37-3. Wendel Miller tied the standing record of 20.74 17-18 Years Old Boys 200m. This record was originally broken by Tyrese Cooper in 2017.
Ultimate Speed Academy won the National Championships overall team award. They finished the event with a total of 190 points and were closely followed by the Indian River Elite Track Club finishing with 186 points.

Orlando, Fla. – The 2021 AAU Primary National Championships concluded their event on Tuesday, July 13. A total of 531 athletes travelled from all of the world to compete in the two-day event held at Satellite Beach High School in Brevard County, Florida.
138 teams attended and participated in the 2021 Primary National Championship. Within the two days of the event, eight athletes broke a total of nine records, three more than 2019 event which finished with six records broken.
Out of 531 athletes, 11 of them went home with two shiny gold medals after finishing first in two events. Jurnee Smith from Peak Performance was the only triple winner from the event. She won the six Years Old Girls 100m with a time of 15.95 and the 200m with a time of 33.66. Smith won and broke the record for the 6 Years Old Long Jump with a score of 10-6.

AAU Track and Field Outdoor season will culminate with qualifying athletes participating in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Houston, Texas, July 31 – August 7.
