ORLANDO, Fla. (September 24, 2021) – The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is excited to announce a new event sponsor, Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative (NOVEC), for the 2022 AAU Track and Field Indoor National Championships. The meet will return to the Virginia Beach Sports Complex in Virginia in March 2022.
“A huge thank you to NOVEC for their care and compassion for youth sports,” said Charles “Coach O” Oliver, AAU Track and Field National chair. “Their contributions will help offset the cost of the event, allowing the AAU to go above and beyond in creating an enriched experience for our participants. We are definitely excited to be back in the Virginia Beach area. We want to help highlight companies in the commonwealth like NOVEC that give back to their communities.”
The Virginia Beach Sports Complex will be hosting AAU Indoor Nationals for the second
straight year. The event itself has allowed competitors from coast to coast to compete in one of the finest facilities in the country.
AAU Track and Field is one of AAU’s largest sports. Through this partnership, AAU and NOVEC will collaborate to offer a top-notch event for AAU members, parents, and coaches nationwide.
“NOVEC is pleased to co-sponsor AAU’s Track and Field Indoor National Championships,” said Wilbur Rollins, NOVEC senior vice president. “As a participant in AAU events and in track and field for many years, I appreciate the leadership and team building values afforded by participating in these events at a young age.”
