AAU Track and Field JR Elite Combined Event

The AAU JR Elite Combined Event Clinic was held in Downey, California on March 18-20, hosting athletes and coaches from around North America
ORLANDO, Fla. (2022) -- The AAU JR Elite Combined Event Clinic was held in Downey, California on March 18 and it was a great success.
Coach Chris Richardson hosted 15 youth athletes and 5 coaches over the weekend in Downey. Coaches and athletes traveled from California, Idaho, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Canada to take part in the clinic. Athletes and coaches got to learn from the best from March 18 – 20.
Coach Richardson's staff consisted of collegiate and professional combined event athletes who are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and provided the athletes with one-on-one instruction and demonstrations.
The camaraderie that developed between the athletes is indicative of the multi-event culture. This was a weekend full of both learning and good times for everyone involved. Future clinics are currently being planned.
"This unique experience could not have gone any better,” commented Coach Chris Richardson. “Being able to facilitate over 40 Personal Best performances and priceless career changing guidance/instruction will have an undoubtable ripple effect in the Combined Event world. I look forward to the future of our sport.”
