ORLANDO, Fla. -   AAU Alumni led Team USA to its best finish ever at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Held in Eugene, Oregon, AAU alumni were well-represented on the medal stand. The United States claimed thirty-three (33) medals overall and thirteen (13) gold to lead all nations in the medal count.

Athing Mu (AAU Track, 2011 - 2020), a 91st AAU Sullivan Award Finalist, continued her world dominance, capturing Gold in the women's 800m. A little less than a year after winning her first Olympic gold medal, the New Jersey native claimed her first world title in 1 minute, 56.30 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year.

Sydney McLaughlin (AAU Track, 2007-2012), took home two-gold medals. After winning her first 400-meter hurdles world title, shattering her own world record in the process, McLaughlin clocked a blazing 47.91 anchor leg in the relay. She was the only runner for any country in the relay to break 49 seconds.

Grant Holloway (AAU Track, 2008 - 2015), repeated as world champion in the men's 110m hurdles. The three-time NCAA Champion in the 110-meter hurdles is now a two-time World Champion in the event all before the age of 25.

Noah Lyles (AAU Track, 2009 - 2014), Olympic bronze medalist Noah Lyles' time of 19.31 seconds was an American record to take gold and made him No. 3 all-time at 200 meters.

Bryce Deadmon (AAU Track, 2014), Michael Norman (AAU Track, 2010-11) and Champion Allison (AAU Track, 2011-16) When Champion Allison grabbed the baton for the anchor leg of the men's 4x400m final, he took off on what was essentially a victory lap. Elija Godwin, Michael Norman and Bryce Deadmon had combined to give the US team such a huge lead that Allison ran the final 400m virtually alone to secure gold for the United States.

Talitha Digg (AAU Track, 2016 - 2020), Britton Wilson (AAU Track, 20015 - 2019) and Sydney
McLaughlin (AAU Track, 2007 - 2012)
led the United States to their third successive women's 4x400 metres relay world title in emphatic fashion, finishing well clear iahead of Jamaica and Britain to close out the Eugene World Championships with a 13th home gold for the US.

Twanisha Terry (AAU Track, 2009 - 2014) The U.S. stunned Jamaica in the women's 4x100 relay, with Twanisha "TeeTee" Terry holding off Jamaica's Shericka Jackson down the final straightaway for a title-winning time of 41.14 seconds, the third-fastest ever.

Aleia Hobbs (AAU Track, 2005 - 2013), 89th AAU Sullivan Award Finalist, won gold as part of the women's 4x100m relay (heats).

Erriyon Knighton (AAU Track, 2019 - 2020) At just 18 years old, captured a bronze medal in the 200 and became the youngest individual men's medalist at a world championship.

Chase Ealey (AAU Girls Basketball, 2004 - 2006), became the first American woman to win a shot put world title when she won gold at the 2022 Worlds.

Katie Nageotte (AAU Gymnastics, 1999) - the reigning Olympic champion took home gold in the women's pole vault.
